Throughout the Bible we see that God responds to our spiritual hunger. People who are apathetic and indifferent rarely receive from God. In the book of Proverbs Solomon encourages us to be people who are humble enough to be life long learners; life long learners are highly successful people. Someone once said: "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" well you can be an old dog if you want, but personally, I'm hungry to learn.

Proverbs 1:1-6

The Beginning of Knowledge

1:1 The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel:

To know wisdom and instruction,
to understand words of insight,
to receive instruction in wise dealing,
in righteousness, justice, and equity;
to give prudence to the simple,
knowledge and discretion to the youth—
Let the wise hear and increase in learning,
and the one who understands obtain guidance,
to understand a proverb and a saying,
the words of the wise and their riddles. (ESV)
